The M.Sc. in Anesthesia & OT Technology (A&OTT) is a postgraduate program that trains students in anesthesia and operation theatre (OT) technology. Eligibility

  • The students who have passed with a minimum of 50% marks in B.Sc. Anaesthesia / B.Sc. Critical Care from institutions where the mode of study is a full-time program with an internship of 1 year in universities 1-year clinical experience is considered equivalent by Yenepoya (Deemed to be) University.
  • B. Voc (Anaesthesia & Operation Theatre / Anaesthesia Technology / Operation Theatre Technology) with 1 year of internship or 1 year of working experience in a clinical setting are eligible for MSC Anaesthesia & Operation Theatre Technology program.

Duration

2 Years

The duration of the programme shall extend over 4 semesters, each semester comprising minimum of 15 weeks with the minimum of 90 actual working days of instruction in each semester. The successful completion of the Post graduate program, will lead to Master’s degree in Anesthesia & OT Technology (A&OTT)

Program (PO & PSO)

  • PO1:Teach and train students of the future in the same specialty.
  • PO2:Plan, setting up, maintaining and managing the Operation Theatre.
  • PO3:Discuss the pathophysiology of common conditions requiring surgery, medical interventions and intensive care management.
  • PO4:Operate equipments and monitors inside the operation theatre and also in the endoscopy suite, MRI suite and casualty.
  • PO 5: Ability to identify and address treat the associated risk factors according to evidence based guidelines and be a member of the treating team.
  • PO 6:Understand the pharmacological effects, uses and adverse reactions of drugs, fluids and blood used in anaesthesia.
  • PO 7:Understand appropriate measures to protect self and the patient during patient transfer.
  • PO 8:Describe the application of technology to health care education and innovative strategies in teaching.
  • PO 9:Know various surgical procedures and requirements for these procedures.
  • PO 10:Apply statistical methods for research data, statistical analysis and reporting of study results.
  • PO 11:Understand and participate as manager of the health care system.
  • PO 12:Describe the anaesthetic and surgical requirements for different procedures.
  • PO 13:Work as member of rescue team and provide services such as Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation, Code Blue, etc.
